HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!!! =)

I miss my Mom. Hindi ko na tuloy s'ya mabati personally...haay...eto na lang, 'my, for you:

A Song For Mama

(BoyzIIMen)

You taught me everything,
And everything you've given me, I'll always keep it inside.
You're the driving force in my life, yeah.
There isn't anything or anyone that I can be,
And it just wouldn't feel right,
If I didn't have you by my side.
You were there for me to love and care for me,
When skies were grey.
Whenever I was down,
You were always there to comfort me.
And no one else can be what you have been to me,
You'll always be,
You will always be the girl in my life for all times.

Mama, Mama you know I love you,
(Oh, you know I love you),
Mama, Mama you're the queen of my heart.
Your love is like tears from the stars.
Mama, I just want you to know,
Lovin' you is like food to my soul.

You're always down for me,
Have always been around for me,
Even when I was bad.
You showed me right from my wrong,
(Yes you did).
And you took up for me,
When everyone was downin' me,
You always did understand,
You gave me strength to go on.
There was so many times,
Looking back when I was so afraid.
And then you come to me and say to me,
I can face anything.
And no one else can do,
What you have done for me.
You'll always be,
You will always be the girl in my life.

Mama, Mama you know I love you,
(Oh, you know I love you),
Mama, Mama you're the queen of my heart.
Your love is like tears from the stars.
Mama, I just want you to know,
Lovin' you is like food to my soul.

Never gonna go a day without you.
Fills me up just thinking about you.
I'll never go a day without my Mama.

Mama, Mama you know I love you,
(Oh, you know I love you),
Mama, Mama you're the queen of my heart.
Your love is like tears from the stars.
Mama, I just want you to know,
Lovin' you is like food to my soul.

Don’t despair. You can still consider yourself normal even if you failed last Monday’s 99.2 (accounting) exam. This is because the highest grade among an estimated 100 students taking BA 99.2 for summer was 64.5% prior to some corrections, and the passing grade is 65%. After the corrections (9 points in total), the highest mark became 71 and I believe that there were only about 10 students who passed. I had an initial grade of 46% and thanks to the corrections, which I all got correct, my score went up to 56%. I must admit that, even though I’m posing a positive attitude about what happened, I must say that the pressure to get a grade of (at least) 2.0 to still be in BS BAA program just went harder…lecheng accounting ka! Humanda ka sa’ken!

Some Reality (TV) Check...

I had a roller coaster of emotions regarding the results of my top three TV shows:

First, I am disappointed when Steph, the lone Ulong cast away, was voted out of Survivor. For me, she is the only one in the remaining 7 survivors who was playing the game (well, Coby also did but he was voted off earlier). To bad Steph wasn’t able to win any immunity challenges, increasing her chances of being in the chopping block. Having said so, the 6 original Koror members were unanimous in writing Steph’s ame on the parchment. Hmm…this leaves me with Tom as my primary bet. Basta ‘wag lang si Jenn!

On the other hand, I am extremely happy that Scott Savol, a.k.a. “Scottie the body” (he reminds me of Dragonball’s Majinboo…)!!! Yehey!!! I bet millions of
American Idol fans jumped of their seats when “arrogant oinker” said goodbye to the show. Simon was right when he tagged Scott as “Houdini”, talking about the contestant’s many escapes (from Nicko Smith onwards, the Idol on Fox Community was unified in the “please don’t vote for Scott” campaign). But unfortunately, the contest had to loose way-better contestants like Anwar and Constantine way before getting rid of Scott. I give the props to Simon for giving compliments to Scott, and telling Vonzell that she was vulnerable, the eve the earlier was voted out. This “unlikely” comments from Cowell might have caused the audience to think that Scott was “safe” and instead voted for Vonzell, giving her another week to win my(/our) heart with her great performances…

Finally, I was almost in tears when Meredith and Gretchen were eliminated from The Amazing Race. For some reason, I love them, both as a couple and as contestants of the race. They are so kid and humble and they played fair. We have seen in previous episodes that they won the hearts of many people all over the course of their adventure (most especially in India). For the record, Meredith and Gretchen are the oldest team to finish a total of 10 legs of the race. I was moved when Meredith said “This is an amazing woman. She’s the love of my life and my soul mate. I think she’s the most beautiful woman in the world.” Gretchen: “We are so happy we came this far. All the things we’ve been able to do and friendships that we’ve made, it’s just been a totally incredible experience for the two of us.” Aww…

Working When I Wasn't Supposed To

Also this time last week, I, together with around 10 other people, were working our butts off along the “seems-to-be-ever-ending” St. Peter Street in Maricaban, Pasay. This is in lieu of our volunteer work for Procter & Gamble, although it wasn’t really “volunteer since we were paid P300/day. It was Jenny Tan (an alumni & ex-VP of JPIA), through Allen (also an alumni &ex-VP of JPIA) and Rach (our Chair in PEPCom), who was looking for 10 workers that would help the Sales d Promotions Department of P&G. Our work description was simply to paint several sari-sari stores lined along St. Peter Street and to put “hangerd” P&G products (i.e. Ariel, Tide, Pantene, etc) on strategic places in those retail establishments. We worked this job for two days, which, by he way, are supposed to be rest days since May 1 was Labor Day fell on a Sunday and the next day was declared to be a non-working holiday. Though working when I wasn’t supposed to, it was definitely a worthwhile experience being able to participate in the operations of among the top manufacturers in the country. (Jenny, are you reading this post? This is free advertising! Maybe you would want to send me some x-deals? Haha! Just kidding! Ü)

Here are some other things that happened and I experienced/noticed/learned during my 2-day work:

-> believe it or not, I almost developed an allergy for food, specially for Kenny Roger’s roasted chicken. Why? The small air-conditioned room of P&G warehouse where we ate lunch, was teeming with Kenny delights! I believe that there were only 12 of us in the room but Jenny bought lunch for 20++ people! 2-3 people shared a whole chicken and each of us had more than 3 cups of rice (except for Ange, who was punishing herself with a no-rice diet), a big serving of side dish, a glass of iced tea and a bottle of water. There were so many left-overs that we had to put them in containers, label them with our names and put it in a box for either future consumption or pasalubong for inay and itay.

-> to my estimate, there were more than 200 sari-sari stores lined up along St. Peter Street. And I can’t help but ask myself: who buys what from who?

-> if you happen to pass by Jollibee-Merville (along SLEX), and notice a “almost-fully-depreciated FX-turned-van” parked in front of their glass door, it is most probably still our service vehicle. But what happened, you ask? Well, blame either blame P&G for not putting a key-chain on he car key or Allen for having a slippery right hand. We had a hard time opening the back door of our vehicle so Allen was forcing his key into the whole and shook it as hard as he can (peace Allen! nothing green here. Ü) when the key slipped from his hands, fell on the cemented pavement and bounced into the imburnal below us. And so we bid goodbye to our service, which could’ve gotten us all home, and we had no choice but to hail for some taxi to brig us home.

-> all of Pantene’s ingredients are also in Rejoice except only for three substances: Panthenol and…I forgot! Just check out for the label. =)
